Orlando Pirates midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula is backing new signing Gilberto, who has already had the club's supporters on the edge of their seats during the recent pre-season tour of Spain, to shine at the Buccaneers this coming season.
Gilberto was among the new players paraded by Pirates during their pre-season matches played in Spain.

The 23-year-old joined the Soweto giants on a three-year contract from Angolan side Petro de Luanda.
The Palancas Negras international was on the score sheet when his new side played into a 1-1 draw against La Liga outfit Granada last Wednesday.
Jose Riveiro's men lost only one match, narrowly so against Qatari champions Al-Sadd, during the pre-season tour, having drawn two and won one.
Amongst the new signings, it was Gilberto that caught the attention of the Ghost with his silky skills and quick runs.
Makhaula believes the blonde-haired attacker will have a wonderful season with last season's runners-up in the league.
"I think for Thalente [Mbatha], we have seen what he is bringing here at Pirates. As for Gilberto, I think he is going to be fine because he understands football and understands what the coach wants from him," said Makhaula during Pirates' new jersey unveiling in Soweto on Monday.
"In Spain, he got 45 minutes, but there were things that you saw that other players didn't understand, but for him to gel so quickly, it was amazing. He also scored, and I think it's not about the language, he also understands football. I think he is going to have a wonderful season," he added.
