Ncikazi on his future: I will stay unless...

Mandla Ncikazi, installed as Orlando Pirates interim head coach following the exit of Jose Riveiro from the head coaching seat, has opened up on what the future could hold for him.

Pirates have been under the guidance of Ncikazi for the last three games - a 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy, 1-0 win over SuperSport and another stalemate with AmaZulu.

This, after Riveiro's departure in mid-May having expressed a desire to seek a new challenge. The Spaniard is expected to be announced as new head coach of Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

In the meantime, the Soweto giants are yet to announce who will take over the reins next season as head coach, or whether the technical staff - including Ncikazi - will stay with the Buccaneers.

Speaking at the post-match press conference after the Usuthu match on Saturday, the former Golden Arrows mentor admitted to some uncertainty.

"Like I said, I’m wired differently," explained Ncikazi.

"I’m working at Pirates. If I’m there, it's good enough. If I’m not there, and it’s decided, I’m still good enough.

"I’m just happy with the contribution that I’m making in the club and being appreciated by the club. As long as it’s still like this, I will always be a servant of this club until told otherwise," he said.

Meanwhile, Bucs have their final game of the season against Magesi FC at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday (19:30).
