"Today [Wednesday], I was coming from my house, and I bought my own ticket at Ticketpro," Mama Joy tells KickOff.

"I had no complimentary tickets on me, I would have understood if I was forcing my way into the VIP section, but instead I used the gate that is used by supporters.

"When I tried to use the supporters' gate, I saw the security coming straight to me saying 'Wena awungeni la.

"We've been instructed not to allow you into the stadium. You can go to whatever gate they will not allow you in. Every security has been briefed about you.'

"I left for Meadowlands Police Station to inform them about my situation, telling them I was starting to doubt if I was still safe.

"They called the Orlando Police who told them they must tell me to come back to Orlando.

"The game was already on by then, the first half was already finished. I was with supporters from Swallows and Royal AM who refused to get into the stadium up until I was let in.

"The Pirates security Nhlanhla changed his story when he was asked why I'm being denied entry, he said 'No gates were not yet open that time.' When in fact it was 14:45 when I got there.

"Imagine entering the stadium when the game is already 57 minutes old, and already in the second half.

"I was denied my rights, I don't know why. I'm asking myself if just one female supporter changing teams can cause all this.

"I was so shocked. Even now I'm still shocked."

Pirates media officer Thandi Merafe was contacted for comment.
