How Pirates missed chance to sign new 'Shaka Zulu'

It has been revealed how Orlando Pirates missed out on a big talent that has since signed for another PSL club, while there is news on a returning striker ahead of the new league season. 

Sifiso Luthuli joined the Pirates Development Academy a few years ago before being loaned out to both Pele Pele and Pretoria Callies.

The 25-year-old is now back in the first team, where he is expected to compete with Tshegofatso Mabasa, Evidence Makgopa, Yanela Mbuthuma, and Boitumelo Radiopane for a starting berth. 

He has already been handed jersey number 39 ahead of the start of the Betway Premiership this weekend.

Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United have beaten The Buccaneers to the services of midfielder Thamsanqa 'Shaka Zulu' Magwaza from FC Ravens in the Eastern Cape.

Touted as a huge talent, he has since moved to Chippa United on loan from Babina Noko.

"Pirates were a few minutes late. They wanted to sign him, but they were late. He is a special player and one of the players to watch in the PSL this season," revealed a source.

The Soweto gisnts have yet to confirm the future of midfielder Siphelo Baloni, who spent last season on loan at the Chilli Boys.
