According to the Motsepe Foundation Championship fixture for the upcoming season, the football-loving community of Kameelrivier will finally have a team to support.
Leicesterford City, who hail from the Sekhukhune district, are owned by Lester Makatoane. Due to inadequate facilities in their area, club officials decided to play their home games outside Limpopo province.
Makatoane is well-known in the Sekhukhune District for organizing football tournaments through his company, Mahlopi Metals Group.
Kameelrivier Stadium is usually packed to capacity during matches.
It was previously used by Galaxy during their time in the second tier but was abandoned in favour of Mbombela Stadium when the PSL deemed it unfit to host elite division fixtures.
