Motale: Ouaddou will surpass Riveiro at Pirates

Orlando Pirates legend Edward "Magents" Motale has expressed his support for the new coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, claiming that he will achieve greater success than José Riveiro at the Soweto club.

During Riveiro's three seasons with the Buccaneers, the team won at least five major knockout trophies.

However, Motale is confident that Ouaddou will lead the club to its first elusive Premier Soccer League title.

Motale emphasizes that Ouaddou’s experience as a former player at the highest level will be beneficial.

"I’m pleased with the team that our new coach has put together so far. The signings they’ve made will create strong competition within the squad," Motale tells KickOff.

"You can see that the coach believes in hard work and youth. He’s been in South Africa for a while now, so he has done his research.

"I believe Ouaddou will be the best and will surpass Riveiro's achievements. Just look at how he managed to perform with Marumo Gallants when there were only five games left in the season; his impact was significant. If he had arrived earlier, he would have done even better with them. He brought direction to that team.

"What I appreciate about him is that he has played the game at the highest level, so he understands what it takes to succeed in football.

“With this coach and this group of players, Orlando Pirates will definitely win the league this coming season.”

Motale was part of the group of Pirates legends who recently conducted an induction for the club's new signings, and he was pleased with the outcomes of that meeting.

"The reason we wanted to talk to them is that we know they are still young and have come from smaller teams. After our meeting, I can tell you they are now settled and eager to go.

"They understand very well what it means to be part of Orlando Pirates. Before our meeting, they were simply excited to join a big team."
