Tendai Ndoro Ndoro relishing rematch with Orlando Pirates

The Urban Warriors will face The Bucs for the second time in two weeks after humbling the Soweto giants 3-0 at Cape Town Stadium last month, having been drawn against their Gauteng rivals in the Last 32 of this year’s Nedbank Cup – a draw Ndoro admits he was secretly hoping for.

“It’s a good fixture, as I even told my teammate Gerald [Takwara] before the draw that we were going to get Pirates,” the Ajax striker tells snl24.com/kickoff. “The draw happened, Orlando Pirates was pulled out and I was hoping the next club to be drawn would be Ajax, and it was! I was very excited, and am really looking forward to the game.”

Ndoro says he’ll definitely use the inner knowledge of his ex-teammates to his advantage.

“It’s nice because I know them, and know how they play,” he says. “I will just hang around there in the box, as I know them and what they will do.”

Despite the previous result, Ndoro – who is still playing under appeal from the PSL regarding his registration controversy – insists a cup game presents a different challenge altogether, but admits his struggling side need another win to boost their confidence for the remainder of the season.

“It’s a different ball game – what we did then, we’ll do differently on Saturday, and they’ve also studied us, so they know how we got those goals,” he says. “So we’ll go there with a different approach.

“We hope we can do the same [as in the league] on Saturday, because we need it.”

Kick-off at Orlando Stadium is set for 20h15.
