Tembu Royals are ready to continue with their winning run when they host Maritzburg United in the Nedbank Cup at Mthatha Stadium

Initially the fixture was scheduled for Sunday last week but postponed due to a PSL hearing after AmaZulu laid a complaint after losing 2-1 against Royals alleging that they fielded an ineligible player.

In a chat with snl24.com/kickoff after winding up their training session last night, Royals coach Lwandile Magula warned the People’s Choice of a hiding in the Eastern Cape tonight.

“We have done everything required for the game. We can’t wait for the match,” Magula says.

“The Morale is high, besides the incentives that have been promised to the players if we proceed to the next round, the boys are highly motivated by the game itself.

“This match will also allow us an opportunity to prove that our win against AmaZulu was not a fluke,” he adds.

Magula says that he has spotted some of United’s weaknesses and will capitalise on them tonight.

“We know where their supply comes from and we have to put a stop to it. Their central defence is also slow and I believe they won’t be able to deal with our pacey strikers,” he says.

The coach appealed to all the people of the Eastern Cape to give them huge support during the match at Mthatha Stadium tonight.

“Some of the boys have already caught the interest of some of the Premiership teams and this game will provide great exposure for them.

“I want to appeal to all the soccer loving people in the province to come in big numbers because we no longer represent ourselves as a team but also the whole of the Eastern Cape Province,” Magula says.
