Myeni rose to prominence during his days at Pirates, where he was part of the squad that won the 2011/12 Absa Premiership title before also lifting the 2014 Nedbank Cup trophy.
However, his departure from The Buccaneers ultimately saw his career take a turn during which he returned to Bidvest Wits, went on a six-month loan to SuperSport United before later being released by Wits in July 2018.
The 31-year-old then went for a year-and-a-half without a club before joining TS Sporting, with whom he now finds himself in a Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clash against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday (15h00).
"For me, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank God first. Looking back over the last 18 months, I didn't think I'd be here talking to the media in a press conference again," said Myeni.
"So, it's quite good that I'm going to be on TV again, as in like Live; not on GladAfrica's Friday show [on SuperSport TV], now 3 o' clock from the warm-up, if the coach selects me.
"For the players, I think this is one game that, since we've been training, that the guys are looking forward to because we're playing a Celtic team that's doing well in the league.
"Motivation-wise, I always tell them, 'Any game you play in, you never know who's watching.' With this game, it's very important for them not to know we are in the Last 8.
"So, it's for them to make sure they stay grounded and not get into the air, because I've been there, like myself, Oscarine [Masuluke], Sbu Khumalo, so we know what to expect on Sunday.
"But the most important thing is for us [senior guys] to make sure that the youngsters know what we're up against on Sunday."
