Absa Premiership log leaders Wits needed a penalty shootout to overcome a stubborn Lidoda Duvha in their Nedbank Cup last 16 replay on Monday night.
"[Sighing] Hey my brother it was tough there, it was tough," the Bafana Bafana defender tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"As people we must sometimes speak the truth. The way those people play makes one happy. That shows that there are a lot of teams who will suffer playing against them, especially in their home ground, they will struggle big time because when you look at the way they play, they are playing a beautiful football at the same time.
"I think they are free to do whatever makes them happy and the benefit you can see. So I think what helped us a lot is that we played them before in the league, so we already knew how they play. I think all that helped us to be able to contain them as we did.
"But all in all it was a nice game for everyone who was there watching. You see my brother in this game of football, if you are strong mentally, other things become easy. That's why I said to you whoever or any team that will go and play them especially there in Thohoyandou... that team or those teams must be well prepared.
"I won't lie, sibonga khona ukuthi siwinile [we are just grateful for the win] you see. Working as a team helped us yesterday."
Hlanti explains why coach Gavin Hunt had to move him from the back to a wing position.
"I got a knock first half you see, because I'm someone who likes to add something to the team each and every time. I continued playing with that injury, so the coach showed that there was something that he sees me doing right, and said 'there is no way I can take you out, try to continue'. So he ended up telling me to play up front," he added.
"But that is something that I won't complain much about because it's not a serious injury according to the doctors. It's just those small pains I'm feeling. So it will be up to the coach if he selects me for our next game."
