Reneilwe Letsholonyane confident of fixing the country against Mamelodi Sundowns

Highlands are set to welcome Sundowns to Makhulong Stadium for the pick of the round in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals on Saturday evening (15h00).

The Lions of the North have already 'fixed the country' by eliminating Kaizer Chiefs in the previous round, and now come up against the only remaining 'giant' in the competition.

Letsholonyane says it was bound to happen that they would meet the big guns at some stage in reaching their goal of going all the way and is adamant they can pull off another upset.

"Because it's a cup game, we were going to meet either of the 'giants' at some stage during the tournament or in the final," said the 37-year-old.

"So, playing Chiefs and Sundowns back-to-back, I wouldn't say it's an advantage but it's one of those things – it's a draw that was made and we just have to beat them to get to the next round, whether it's against a big or small team.

"If you have a dream of wanting to win a competition, you must beat whoever comes in your path, whether they are big or small."

Talk amongst supporters in recent times have been heavily centred around the country being 'fixed' when one of the PSL's big three gets beaten, and 'Yeye' is happy to oblige.

"We're winning. We want to win. Fixing the country, if that happens, it's obviously the supporters' things or duties to say whatever they want to," he added.

"For us, as players and the club, we want to win the game so that we can go to the next stage of the Nedbank Cup."
