Sundowns are set to kick-off their Nedbank Cup campaign this evening with a Tshwane derby against SuperSport United, while also trying to juggle their Absa Premiership and CAF Champions League ambitions.
"We had MTN8, Champions League qualifiers and we had the league – same with the Telkom [Knockout] cup. If you go back on the calendar, we have been playing in three tournaments in seven games all season," said Mosimane.
"So, we should not complain now that we have Nedbank Cup and we have to play three tournaments at the same time – that's the way it is.
"When you're ambitious enough, you get involved in things like this and you hope that you win some. You saw, we lost the [MTN8] but we at least got the Telkom. So, you can never know which one you'll get."
'Jingles' further revealed that he often requests permission to do what Klopp recently did with Liverpool's FA Cup fourth round fixture against Shrewsbury, in which he fielded a team with a club record average age of 19 years and 102 days.
"I always ask the club as well, 'Guys, can I do the Klopp?' If I can do the Klopp, maybe it can be easier if I can put the under-23s to play the Nedbank Cup," he added.
"But it's not in the culture of the team, our people [supporters] love the cups, and if cups are not important, why did we win the TKO cup?
"But I like this one [Nedbank Cup] because it gives you a space for continental football, and we're used to [juggling the tournaments] irrespective of how the results are.
"We've been doing that for the last four or five years, so it's okay."
