Paulus Masehe can't wait to play in the CAF Confederation Cup with Free State Stars

Masehe is likely to call time on his career at the end of next season and he’ll bow out with cup success following Stars' triumph in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday, as they beat Maritzburg United 1-0 at Cape Town Stadium.

By winning the competition, Ea Lla Koto have booked themselves a spot in the Confederation Cup along with Kaizer Chiefs. It’s the first time they will be taking part in a continental club competition and Masehe is looking forward to the experience.

“It [winning a trophy] is something I was dreaming about since I was very young, or rather since I rejoined Free State Stars because I started here as a development player in our Under-19s. Now this is the icing on the cake. Through God’s mercy, it happened. Now it’s about teaching the youngsters to develop a positive attitude, the work ethic, commitment and discipline,” said the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates player, who was named man of the match on Saturday.

“Playing in Africa is another milestone because Free State Stars has never played in Africa, so that’s another history in the making. It’s going to be very special.”
