Owen Da Gama responds to Pitso Mosimane mind games

'Jingles' reacted to the Nedbank Cup last eight draw by highlighting the fact that his side will be facing a hard-working and physically strong Highlands Park in the next round.

Particularly, Mosimane wants to avoid going 120 minutes with the Lions of the North owing to the fact that they are still competing for silverware in three different competitions.

But Da Gama feels Mosimane's comments are just part of his games and is not taking them seriously.

"Look, I'm not going to comment on the mind games. I don't comment on them because I mean they [Sundowns] talk about freshness but how many players do they have?" Da Gama asks.

"How many players? They can put three teams on the park but they talk about freshness so with us we don't get involved with that. We understand and we know the game. We know what's out there."

ODG says as much as he respects Mosimane, he won't get involved in mind games and will never have any excuse whether he wins or loses.

"We don't get involved with mind games. Coach Pitso is a good coach, he has a right to say what he wants to say," he adds.

"We just focus on what we do and there's no excuses, win or lose. No excuses, it's part of the game."

The two teams will meet each other in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals at Makhulong Stadium on Saturday, 14 March (18h00).
