Maritzburg United's Fortune Makaringe expects a tougher game against Bloemfontein Celtic

Celtic visit the Team of Choice at Harry Gwala Stadium in the Nedbank Cup last eight today (15h30), a venue where Phunya Sele Sele were beaten 4-0 by Fadlu Davids’ men in the Absa Premiership in January.

Pogiso Sanoka, Mohau Mokate, Evans Rusike and Andrea Fileccia were on target as they slaughtered Celtic, but Makaringe is aware that it might not be the same when they meet in the cup this afternoon.

“Bare in mind that when we played against them [at Dr Molemela Stadium in the first half of the season] they could’ve actually beaten us by more than what we beat them here,” said Makaringe, who has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season.

“So it’s going to be very tough game. And knowing very well that they want to cause an upset on our home ground, so they’re going to be coming fired up. So it’s definitely going to be lot tougher than it was in the previous encounter.”

The Team of Choice will be without Sanoka and Bevan Fransman due to suspension. Kenyan defender Brian Onyango is also no available, as he underwent surgery on the knee injury he sustained before the Fifa break against Polokwane City.
