Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has no time for cowards

Mosimane made the point as he praised his men’s spirit in a recent CAF Champions League Group A tie with Wydad Casablanca at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

“Gone are those days when Sundowns were cheese boys and good boys,” said Mosimane after the ill-tempered affair in Tshwane.

“Not when I am here. We have to fight fire with fire. Even in local games, the PSL, we are going to fight fire with fire. Any stadium we go, we are going to fight fire with fire.

"If you don't have the spirit and mentality you will never play in my team. We have to play football and entertain everybody, but when a fight comes we will give a fight.”

The Absa Premiership champions beat the Moroccan outfit 2-1 and repeated the scoreline in a league game against Highlands Park in Tembisa on Tuesday.

Mosimane’s charges will next face Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup last-32 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday (15h00).
