Magic FC captain Tshepiso Tlhapi hails team effort

The third-tier outfit held Chiefs to a goalless draw in regulation time but succumbed to a 3-0 defeat in extra-time and crashed out of Nedbank Cup.

“I think everyone did his best, you don’t need motivation to play against Kaizer Chiefs. Chiefs is the biggest teams in the country. We put in the hard work at training, we were looking forward to this game,” Tlhapi told SuperSport TV.

“They [Chiefs] are human beings, same us that’s why we kept on going until the last moment and we gave it away,” he continued.

Tlhapi went on to thank the supporters who came to cheer them on at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium after the game was moved away from Cape Town.

“Thanks to everyone who supported us since we came here in PE [Port Elizabeth]. It’s a pity we didn’t have Stadiums [available] in Cape Town. Thank you,” he concluded.
