Kaizer Chiefs youngster Bruce Bvuma unsurprised by sudden rise

Bvuma’s rise has come at a relatively quick pace, from being third-choice at Chiefs at the start of the season to donning the number-one jersey at present.

The 23-year-old also earned himself a spot amongst the country’s elite during Bafana’s assignment away to Libya in their final 2019 AFCON qualifier last week.

He is thus enjoying every moment of his rise as he believes it has come as a result of his tireless efforts, and says he now looks forward to continuing in this vein in order to fully cement his place on all fronts.

“It’s God’s plan. I’ve just kept on working hard and fortunately enough this year started well for me, and I’m very thankful,” said Bvuma.

“That Bafana call-up made me realise the sky is the limit and I can always get to wherever I want to, as long as I keep working hard," he added.

“I’ve played in the COSAFA Cup before; I’ve played in CHAN qualifier against Zambia, but being with that ‘senior’ setup – I don’t know how to put it, but those ‘senior’ guys – it was a great experience that made me realise it’s all possible if you work hard.”

Bvuma has conceded just one goal in his last four matches.
