Mashiane was absent from Chiefs’ line-up as they drew 1-1 with Polokwane City in an Absa Premiership encounter at the Peter Mokaba Stadium over the weekend.
The 21-year-old winger has started all four matches since making his PSL debut for the club in their 1-0 victory over ABC Motsepe League side Tornado FC in the Nedbank Cup opening round last month.
However, coach Ernst Middendorp has since confirmed he is set to miss the next four weeks of action as he nurses a fracture sustained in their previous encounter against The Magic FC in Port Elizabeth last weekend.
“Happy was quite influential in all our recent games, but he came out of the [last] game with a broken bone and will also be out for four weeks. What must I do?” questioned Middendorp.
“I cannot … That’s a simple way of how we have to deal with situations in the moment, which is very distracting and disturbing.
“We had a very good player on the left-wing, with a lot of influential moments, but unfortunately now we don’t have him for four weeks, not because he made a mistake but because he got absolutely kicked several times.”
The former Amajita attacker is set to miss league fixtures against Highlands Park, Maritzburg United and SuperSport United before possibly returning for Chiefs' Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash against Cape Town City at the end of March.
