Dan Malesela proud of historical TS Galaxy Nedbank Cup final berth

TS Galaxy coach Dan Malesela is proud of his side's achievement of reaching the Nedbank Cup final after seeing off Golden Arrows on Saturday.

Galaxy scored two goals in extra time to seal a 3-1 victory over the Absa Premiership side and book a place in the final against Kaizer Chiefs.

Speaking after the win, the former Chippa United coach said they had a plan on how to prepare if they end up reaching the final and also told his players about the importance of making history.

"About the win, it's a great feeling. I told the players before this game that I like historical wins, it helps anyone to advertise themselves and in this case we will benefit a lot," he said.

"We already planned about how we will manage players for the final and the league, they will get enough rest to be ready to play in the final and also in the league."

Malesela was asked about the Royal Eagles incident in the National First Division, which created lots of debate about the penalties the NFD leaders have been getting .

"It's not up to me to fix their issues, we don't have to worry about what happened, I've moved on from that. Even about this Arrows game, we will be ready to focus on our next game once we arrive in the hotel," he insisted.

The Galaxy coach says it helped to reduce the numbers in the squad, which is why the team is doing well in the Nedbank Cup and in the NFD as a new club in South African football.

"If you choose the right personnel, you manage to reduce them and be able to deal with individuals, understand everyone, it's all about understanding how we structure ourselves as a team," he explained.
