TS Galaxy coach Dan 'Dance' Malesela has taken the positives from their performance against Royal Eagles rather than mulling over the suspicious officiating from Sunday.
Galaxy are the only lower division outfit left in this season's Nedbank Cup as they get ready to face Golden Arrows at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday afternoon (15h00).
The National First Division outfit – currently eighth on the log standings – will come into the tie on the back of a rather contentious 1-0 defeat to Eagles, who are now strong promotion playoff candidates with three games left of the season.
The moment that stood out in the encounter was the manner in which the Durban-based side found their winning goal from the penalty spot after a dubious call from the referee.
Many have flagged the nature of Eagles' rise in the league, with the club having been awarded an irregular number of penalties throughout the season thus far.
However, Malesela showed maturity in addressing the matter as he refused to comment on the events that took place at Kameelrivier Stadium in KwaNdebele.
"I'd rather we don't speak about the weekend. Agh, I've forgotten about it because we must make progress here [in the Nedbank Cup]," said Malesela.
"We're now preparing for Arrows, so what happened on the weekend we must just forget about it. The pleasing thing about it is that we are playing well irrespective, so I get confidence from that."
The former Chippa United mentor further expressed his pleasure at being in yet another semifinal – his third of his coaching career – with the only remaining lower-tier side.
"I must say it's a very pleasing thing because it's not easy for low-lying teams to get this far, apart from PSL teams. It's a very pleasing thing, but it will be more pleasing if we progress to the final," he added.
"You cannot be satisfied with being in the semifinals, I mean, what do you have to show for it? Put a medal to it and then you'll be pleased."
