Ugly scenes ensued after Kaizer Chiefs lost 2-0 to Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals last month, as supporters assaulted security guards and damaged the venue to the tune of R2,6 million among other acts of hooliganism.
On the day 12 people were treated for injuries at the stadium, while six were admitted to hospital and later discharged.
Steve Komphela resigned as coach of Chiefs after the game, having endured increasingly hostile abuse from the stands as the Soweto giants finished a third straight season without silverware.
