Chippa United coach Clinton Larsen plays down pressure talk against Mamelodi Sundowns

Chippa, who are in the drop zone with 15 points from 18 games, will face Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns in their Nedbank Cup opener at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Saturday (15h00).

"On our match against Sundowns, we won't be under pressure," said Larsen, who started his reign at the Chilli Boys with a 2-0 league win over fellow strugglers Maritzburg United last weekend.

"We will go there and enjoy ourselves. We are only focusing mainly on getting out of relegation."

He added: "I'm here to save this club. We need to be stabilised so we can survive. My contact ends in May, so you really can't plan for long-term."

Larsen, who was fired by Golden Arrows in December before replacing Joel Masutha at United, is confident he will pull off the rescue job.

"I've stabilised Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows, I will do the same at Chippa. The good thing is the players want stability too."
