Baroka FC's Talent Chawapihwa excited ahead of Kaizer Chiefs showdown

Bakgaga visit the Soweto giants at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth tonight (20h15), hoping to progress to the semi finals of this competition for the third time in their history.

Baroka were beaten 2-1 by Chiefs in the Absa Premiership in January, but Chawapihwa believes this will be a different type of game.

“It’s a motivation on its own to play against a team that you always supported. You are self-motivated when you play against a big team,” the Zimbabwean international said.

“We have prepared very well for the match. We hope to get a positive result. This is a different one because it’s a cup game. Everyone is going to throw everything because it’s a cup game, there has to be a winner at the end of the match. I think it’s going to be a fun game.”

The skilful left-footed player was part of the Zimbabwean side that played at the Four Nations tournament in Zambia during the Fifa international week.

He has recovered from the trip and is ready to face Amakhosi.

“I came and they gave me a day to rest, so I have recovered enough for me to play on the weekend.”

Chawapihwa has the ability to take players on and whip in good crosses into the box, so the Amakhosi defenders will have to be on high alert to ensure he does not get too much room to do as he pleases.
