My Dream Team: Joseph Kamwendo lists late Gift Leremi, Senzo Meyiwa in star studded XI

After announcing his retirement this week, Malawi legend Joseph Kamwendo lists his dream team featuring the late Senzo Meyiwa and Gift Leremi.

Kamwendo, 33, announced his retirement on Monday after amassing 117 caps for the Malawi national team while representing the likes of Orlando Pirates, TP Mazembe and Danish SuperLiga outfit Nordsjælland.

With his career dating back to 2003 with MTL Wanderers, where he made his first-team debut at 16, the gifted playmaker lined up alongside some influential figures of African football history.

And speaking to snl24.com/kickoff, he listed Meyiwa and Leremi amongst six players of Pirates whom he feels was the best he's seen over his 17-year career.

Despite winning league titles in DR Congo, Zimbabwe and in his homeland of Malawi cited his time in South Africa as 'the most special to him'.

And with the heavy contingent of Buccaneers, another former Absa Premiership legend makes it into the XI that can be seen in the gallery above, whom he played with at Vasco da Gama in 2010.
