Pitso Mosimane points out Mamelodi Sundowns' difficulty in challenging for the MTN8 and CAF Champions League titles

Sundowns beat Golden Arrows 2-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday to advance to the semi-finals of the domestic cup where Cape Town City await on the weekend of August 25/26.

However, Downs must first navigate a crucial Champions League Group C tie with champions Wydad Casablanca in Morocco on Friday before hosting Highlands Park at Loftus Versfeld in the league on Tuesday.

"Desperate [to win the MTN8]? I am not sure," Mosimane said.

"But eager yes. I would love to win it. I also myself want to win it with Sundowns because I have not won it with Sundowns.

"But this cup we always have the Champions League semi and quarter-finals in between.

"It doesn't give me happiness to play or not put the best team on the pitch that I think on the day is the best team.

"I play this week, I am playing another game next week. Like I am playing [Arrows] but I am managing the game against Wydad.

"I need [Tiyani] Mabunda in the midfield. I need a fresh captain [Hompho Kekana]. I need 'Langer' [Tebogo Langerman] in Morocco because [Lyle] Lakay is cup-tied."

Masandawana have been boosted by the return of first choice goalkeeper Denis Onyango.

The Ugandan has recovered from a knock to the head he suffered in a collision with Polokwane City midfielder Mbulelo Wagaba on August 7.
