Mickey Modisane Orlando Pirates MTN8 ticket prices

Soccer fans usually fork out around R40 for a ticket, but for this particular Soweto Derby the price has doubled to R80.

Many supporters have expressed their unhappiness with the decision and asked snl24.com/kickoff to investigate.

Now Pirates PRO Mickey Modisane explains that the decision was take for security reasons.

“The reason is because of [extra] security and also to avoid confusion on the day,” Modisane tells snl24.com/kickoff. “We didn’t want to divide the stadium into different blocks; we want people to sit anywhere they want to and for that we need extra security.”

Modisane also explains why they took the game to Orlando Stadium instead of FNB Stadium.

“We had the privilege to take our game anywhere we wanted to, and Orlando Stadium is our home ground. Chiefs took their game to FNB because that’s their home ground,” he adds.

“We played Zamelak at Orlando and we beat them with a big score. So we had to make sure that we have home ground advantage.”
