Laffor was handed a rare start in the event decider after impressing in the CAF Champions League semi-final win over Zesco United the weekend before.
However, Mosimane opted to replace him with new signing Yannick Zakri straight after the interval at Mbombela Stadium.
"That's the beauty of football, that's why our jobs are tough," says Mosimane, who seemingly has a complex relationship with the winger judging by recent comments in the press.
"I did the honourable thing, I did what I was supposed to do. The guy has been scoring and is in the line-up. At half-time I changed, it's not coming out, he also understands it.
"I am there, I played my cards well. It's for me now as coach as to what I will do in the next match. We will see, I have to speak to him, I have to find out how he is feeling. It's a tough one guys."
The Brazilians next host Egyptian giants Zamalek in the first leg of their Champions League final at Lucas Moripe Stadium on October 15.
