Kaizer Chiefs' Giovanni Solinas dedicates MTN8 win over Free State Stars to Joseph Molangoane

Molangoane, 30, faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after coming off second best in a challenge with Stars' Makhehleni Makhaula at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

"We are very happy for this victory but we are also shocked because we lost a nice guy like Joseph," Solinas said after the game.

"We dedicate this victory to Joseph. It's a serious injury. I hope this player can come back quickly.

"My players are shocked in the dressing room. Some are very sad. 'Rama' [Ramahlwe Mphahlele] spoke to him now. He is shocked.

"They lost a team-mate, we lost an important player."

The Italian added: "For us it is a bad loss because we lost this player for a long time now.

"I don't have the words to explain my emotions. We can only pray for this guy."

Chiefs won the contest via goals from Dumisani Zuma, Leonardo Castro and new signing Khama Billiat.

Solinas's men next visit Baroka in the league at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday (19h30).
