Keanu Cupido's first-half header was enough to hand City a 1-0 win over the Team of Choice on Sunday afternoon.
“It was very difficult. Maritzburg runs a lot and they never give up. With them coming from two losses and us also from a loss was going to be a difficult game for both sides,” Nodada told SuperSport TV.
“Now the boys pulled through, everybody worked for the team and that’s how we got the result and we’re happy to be in the next round,” he enthused.
Nodada explained that he was not surprised to see some players getting injured in the second half as the Team of Choice were desperate for the equaliser.
“It got dirtier as the game went by because they were forcing and it was compact in the middle so players were destined to get injured at the end of the day. My team worked extremely hard, we deserve this,” he said.
“I want to thank everyone here in Pietermaritzburg who came out to support Cape Town City and especially my family who are sitting right there [in the stands] thank you very much,” he concluded.
