The former Bucs midfielder is back in the country after a short stint with Erbil Sports Club in Iraq.
The arrival of Thala at the Romans comes soon after the signing of Malawian striker Atusaye Nyondo from St George in Ethiopia.
According to sources close to the deal, Twala could be registered in time for the Nedbank Cup semi-final against Chippa United.
"The deal is almost done. The player is excited to join a very ambitious team and is looking forward to making a contribution to the success of the team," the source tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"He should be registered before the Nedbank Cup game against Chippa United."
