Venda turn to former PSL top scorer

Venda FC have brought in 2014/15 DStv Premiership top scorer Moeketsi Sekola as their top signing as they sharpen up for the new season under Joel Masutha.

Sekola spent the past season at Tshakhuma Tsha Madzvivhandila who were relegated to the ABC Motsepe League after finishing second from bottom.

The 34-year-old has spent a decade moving around from Roses United to Free State Stars then Highlands Park, Chippa United, Real Kings, Jomo Cosmos, and TTM.

It was in the 2014/15 season that he finished top of the scoring charts with 14 goals while at Free State.

In a major overhaul taking place at the Limpopo club Sekola has been joined by 17 other new players after another nine were released.

The new arrivals are listed as.

1. Mpakumpaku Ludwe - Goalkeeper, previously with Casric Stars FC

2. Lunglile Gama – Left Winger, previously with Soweto Super United FC

3. Matimu Tshabalala – Striker, Loan from Sekhukhune United FC

4. Kgothatso Mariba – Attacking Midfielder, Loan from Sekhukhune United FC

5. Moeketsi Sekola -Striker, previously with TTM FC

6. Thabiso Nkoana - Striker, previously with TTM FC

7. Kenneth Nthatheni -Centre-Back, previously with Black Leopards FC

 8. Tumelo Mokgalaka – Left-back, previously with Ngwaabe City Motors FC

9. Lwazi Meek – Rick-back, previously with Mpheni Home Defenders FC

10. Patrick Malivha -Midfielder, previously with Luvhalani Sunshine Pirates FC

11. Kamohelo Lehalehale -Attacking Midfileder, previously with Stars of Africa Football Academy

12. Thabelo Tshikweta – Striker, previously with Mpheni Home Defenders FC

13. Mmbengwa Livhuwuni – Winger, previously with Dipeni FC

14. Reagan Lubesha – Defensive Mid-fielder, previously with Makeni All Stars (Zambia)

15. Fulufhelo Phaswana – Attacking Mid-fielder, previously with Marumo Gallants FC (DDC Team)

16. Mtshweni Zebulon – Centre-back, previously with Casric Stars FC

17. Khomotso Masia – Centre- Back, previously with University of Pretoria FC

18. Murwamuiwa Given – Attacking Mid-Fielder, previously with Eagles United FC

Nine players have been released and include veteran striker Rhulani Manzini who is joined by Christopher Mbhele, Lucky Munyai, Rankoko Tau, Maanda Rembuluwani, Nicolas Motloung, Thulane Ndlela, Sbonelo Ngubane, and Madimana Munyai.
