Spanish coach already at risk of the axe?

Black Leopards' slow start to the new Motsepe Foundation Championship has left Spanish coach Alejandro Dorado standing with worry at the club.

Leopards appointed Dorado as their new head coach at the beginning of July after they bought the franchise of All Stars in the aftermath of their relegation from the second-tier league last season under Owen da Gama.

Dorado has been brought in from HFX Wanderers in Canada where he worked as an assistant having previously worked in the youth ranks of Real Madrid before moving to work as an assistant at FC Honka in Finland.

After his time in Finland, he then served as assistant to Rafa Benitez at Dalian Professional in China.

With Jose Riveiro proving his worth at Pirates, and AmaZulu turning to Pablo Franco Martin, Leopards found reason in bringing in their own Spaniard.

However, it hasn't been a great start for the 38-year-old with only a single point from the opening two games.

As is always the case at Leopards, Dorado is now facing the risk of not lasting the length of the season.

Lidoda Duvha drew away at Pretoria Callies on the opening day before they lost to Casric Stars on Saturday at home.

It could be only two games into the season, but Dorado will know that when results are not forthcoming at Leopards the axe strikes.

Leopards have grown notorious through the years for constantly changing coaches and just last season they had Joel Masutha, Rodwell Dhlakama, Johnny Ferreira, and Owen da Gama calling the shots at one time at the club.

Previously, there have been coaches who only lasted three to five games at Leopards in Patrick Aussems and Lionel Soccoia.
