In the current climate around the world there have been no guarantees for the majority of footballers whose contracts are coming to an end, but Zwane and Khuboni have been told their jobs are safe.
The former Bafana Bafana players were amongst the big signings for the Cane Cutters in January as the club boosted its squad to fight for promotion to the Absa Premiership.
Both signed short-term deals that are set to come to an end in June but the club has now shown a willingness to extend their contracts if they are not picked up by top-flight teams.
"I can assure you that Siyanda Zwane was up to standard and we were very happy with him. Same as Thanduyise Khuboni. Their experience helped us a lot as a team."
Zwane stated his desire to move back to the Absa Premiership before signing for Uthongathi and with the current football suspension, there is a chance the GladAfrica Championship team will lose their two senior stars.
Chili says the club is willing to let them go if good offers come in. But if not, the Cane Cutters would be happy for them to stay for another season.
"When we brought them here we told them we want to help them revive their careers and they must use Uthongathi FC as their platform to showcase their talents," he explains.
"We will have to sit down with them and see because as much as we still need them, it all depends on whether they want to stay or not."
