Peter Koutroulis confident of Sekhukhune FC's DStv Premiership promotion bid

Koutroulis was last on the books of Chippa United at professional level, before he resurfaced at ambitious GladAfrica Championship side Sekhukhune United FC this past weekend.

The former Brazilians manager also worked for Mpumalanga Black Aces during his illustrious career in South African football.

Speaking in an interview with snl24.com/kickoff, Koutroulis sounded optimistic of helping the DStv Premiership hopefuls get promotion to the elite league next season.

"The focus now is to help the club gain promotion to PSL next season. The club deserves to play in PSL," said the veteran football administrator.

"They have good structure, good management and good players. It's unfortunate that we drew our last game [against Richards Bay FC] but there are still five games to go."

Sekhukhune United are currently occupying third spot on the Championship table, with 37 points from 25 games, and trail log leaders Richards Bay by just five points.

Their next test will be against eighth-placed Uthongathi FC, who are just four points adrift, followed by clashes against Pretoria Callies, Cape Umoya United, Polokwane City and finally JDR Stars.
