Casric Stars 6-1 Orbit College
Table-topping Orbit College slumped to a 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Casric Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Saturday.
It's a welcome victory for Stars, who halt a three-match run without a win that dates back to November 01 against the bottom-three dwellers Pretoria Callies.
Amidst the atrocious display, the promoted Orbit remain at the summit whilst Casric jumped into eight spot on the standings.
Parsley Fielies and Lifa Makua put Casric ahead at halftime before Lebohang Lesako, a double from Decide Chauke and Sabelo Nyembe completed the rout.
Pretoria Callies 2-1 Baroka FC
Pretoria Callies recorded back-to-back victories to ease their relegation worries courtesy of a gutsy 2-1 win over the high-flying Baroka FC.
Callies have now moved out of the bottom two following the win, whilst Baroka remain second as the Romans put the brakes on Dan Malesela's fine start since ascending the hotseat.
Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele were behind after halftime, but bounced back courtesy of a spot-kick from long-serving Matome Mathiane though the Romans regained control to find the win.
Upington City 2-0 Maritzburg United
Upington City stretched their unbeaten run to ten matches after a 2-0 win over a stuttering Maritzburg United in the Northern Cape.
Maritzburg are now five matches without a win, having just axed coach Zipho Dlangalala as goals from Jason Arries and Keletso Makgalwa resulted to victory.
Both sides had players send off in the latter stages, with Joslin Kamatuka dismissed on the path of United to Gwanqwa send packing on the opposite end.
Milford Stallions 1-0 Platinum City Rovers
Milford Stallions picked up just a third win of the campaign to move from the foot of the table and haul Platinum City Rovers to the basement with a 1-0 triumph following a bottom-half tussle.
Rovers, who have found the going tough thus far this season, most recent win came three weeks ago against Black Leopards.
Stallions got the winner in the second half after it finished honours even at the break and saw the visitors rooted to the bottom.
Venda Football Academy 2-0 Marumo Gallants FC
Venda Football Academy returned to winning ways after going on a three-match winless streak and edged Marumo Gallants FC 2-0 in Thohoyandou.
Gallants' inconsistent tenure in their Championship debut continues - having won just three times from 14 matches played to date and are down in 12th spot.
As for Venda, the host sit just one slot behind Bahlabane Ba Ntwa all through efforts from Tavengwa Tatenda and Kgothatso Mariba.
JDR Stars 1-2 Hungry Lions
Hungry Lions overturned a barren run of form to record a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over JDR Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Friday.
It's a second loss in a row for JDR and dropped down to seventh spot on the standings, as Di Tau jumped to third place owing to the victory.
The Hammerboys led at the break, but Di Tau raced back in the second half to secure victory with goals from Michael Khanyi and Katlego Cwinyane.
Magesi FC 0-2 University of Pretoria
University of Pretoria snatched a third successive win to leap into fourth place after a 2-0 victory over Magesi FC down at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Magesi looked to settle first, but Thabang Makara's header at the far post got the Tshwane boys ahead before a stunning long-range drive from Neo Dikgale after halftime ensured the points.
NB La Masia 2-0 Black Leopards
NB La Masia bounced back from a five-match streak without victory to ease past Black Leopards 2-0 out at Vanderbijlpark's Isak Steyl Stadium.
Confidence in the home side's camp were down following the 4-1 thumping by Baroka FC last week, while Lidoda Duvha edged Marumo Gallants FC in an entertaining contest.
It was score-less following the first half before the host rallied about to strike in the space of minutes for the win and maximum points.
