Bizana Pondo Chiefs sign Shaquille Abrahams

Abrahams has been training with Usuthu for some time but has been allowed by their coach Benni McCarthy to go and get game time at the struggling GladAfrica Championship side.

The former Cape Town City youngster was expected to be offered a contract at AmaZulu but nothing materialised, and McCarthy organised him a move to Chiefs.

The 23-year-old was part of McCarthy's Citizens team that won the MTN8 a few years ago.

"Yes, Shaquille Abrahams played the last game, also Lerato Manzini and Deolin Mekoa," Larsen confirms to snl24.com/kickoff.

"Those are the three players we signed, Mekoa, Manzini and Abrahams. I know him from when I was in the PSL, he played for Cape Town City. Very versatile. That's why Benni brought him down to train with the AmaZulu.

"He's left-footed, he can play left-back, left-wing, very good crosser of the ball. So ja he's helping us."

Asked if the youngster has joined outright or on loan, Larsen adds: "Well, he never signed at AmaZulu, so Benni has done us a favour by allowing us to use him these few games."
