Baroka FC add another former PSL player

Baroka FC head coach Dan Malesela has bolstered his squad with the addition of another former Premier Soccer League talent.

Malesela has secured the services of former TS Galaxy FC player Lifa Hlongwane, signaling his clear intention to guide Bakgaga back to the DStv Premiership.

Since taking over from Stanford Nkoane, Malesela has not experienced a single defeat.

Hlongwane, who had been without a club since parting ways with Galaxy at the start of the 2023/24 season, had already made three appearances for Galaxy during that season.

Despite his tenure with the Mpumalanga province-based club spanning several seasons, the 30-year-old forward only managed to score two goals and provide one assist in his 30 appearances under the guidance of coach Saed Ramovic.

Baroka FC, based in Limpopo, has been competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship since the 2022/23 season following their relegation from the top tier.

According to the club, Hlongwane has signed a one-year deal with an optional extension.

Notable experienced players within the Lebowakgomo-based club include Trevor Mathiane and Namibian international Ananias Gebhardt.

Currently positioned fourth on the log table, Baroka FC is on track for a return to the DStv Premiership next season, sitting just two points behind the leaders, Orbit College FC.
