Both Neo Maema and Sphelele Mkhulise have conceded that their 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Citizens in Tshwane on Saturday was a bitter pill to swallow.
"After the game the mood was not good because as Mamelodi Sundowns we always want to dominate the results, dominate the play, if we don't get three points during the game it doesn't feel right".
"No matter that we had already won the league it was important to win and get three points against Cape Town City because we were playing at home and in front of our fans. So losing against Cape Town City didnt sit down well with us even now we haven't recovered well after being beaten by Cape Town City," said Mkhulisi.
Masandawana has already won the African Football League and DStv Premiership this season and stands a chance to win a treble if beats Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup Final at the Mbombela Stadium.
"The treble is still there for taking and we want it. We were successful last season, we did well but we only won the league. This season we have won the African Football League. In our eyes, it has been a successful season and to put the cherry on top of the cake we have to win the Nedbank Cu, and we go for it," said Maema.
" The disappointment is there for not reaching the goal of being an invincible team this season. It is there. It strikes us that 29 games we fought us hard and not make it in the final game but we have a game on Saturday and we have to win and soon or later we have to get over it," he added.
