Despite his shoulder injury, Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena refused to substitute Mudau during the entertaining cup final.

"He did nothing wrong. Despite his injury, he played well," Mhlongo says.

"He performed well, so I can't say Rulani made a wrong decision by keeping him on the pitch. Injury doesn't mean 'game over'.

"It shows how much the team needs you. The team believes in you. It's the feeling of the coach," added the man nicknamed 'Mayanga'.

Mhlongo went on to give his impressions on the match.

"Pound-to-pound, the teams matched each other very well, they gave us a good final and that's what we expected.

"'Tito' [Patrick Maswanganyi] was smart to win that penalty. Seeing that the ball was in the air, he made sure he put his body between the ball and the man.

"Let alone the second goal. Mofokeng toe-poked that ball. If it was another player, he would have put full shoelaces on the ball.
