The second leg of the semi-final ended 2-2 before being decided on penalties, where the visitors emerged victorious with a 4-1 scoreline.
The results did not go down well with Masandawana as a handful of supporters waited at the exit tunnel after the match to express their anger and disappointment with head coach Migual Cardoso and the players.
Club captain, Ronwen Williams has put on a brave face in the aftermath of the unfortunate result.
“Not a good space to be in now. You can see some of the guys still bit down, the mood is not one of the best. Obviously, we had a big objective to start the campaign on a positive note, which was to go all out for the MTN8, but it wasn’t to be," says the Gqeberha-born star.
"But we have to dust ourselves off and go again.
“The mood is not the best, but we had a nice reflection, a nice meeting, to see the good and bad moments of the past game, to reflect, and just to move forward now. A lot of stuff to take out of the defeat. We're all hurting, we are sad. Our supporters, we are all in this together.

"We are all feeling the effects of being knocked out. We just have to draw positives and draw love and support for each other during this difficult moment. The big assignment now is that of facing Kaizer Chiefs, one we're looking forward to.
"We have a rule at the club: after the match, we give 24 hours either to be sad or 24 hours to celebrate, and once that is past, it's time to focus and look forward to the next match,” he added.
Up next for The Brazilians is Chiefs in the Betway Premiership at FNB Stadium on Wednesday (19:30).
