Richards Bay FC has joined Kaizer Chiefs and Magesi FC in the race to sign striker Thabang Sibanyoni, who was on the books of University of Pretoria last season but actually belongs to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sibanyoni played a crucial role in helping Tuks secure a play-offs spot, even if they could only come so close to winning promotion to the elite division.

The 28-year-old has spent the past few years away from Chloorkop with brief stints at the likes of SuperSport United and Sekhukhune United.
He was part of the Bafana Bafana squad that participated in the COSAFA Cup tournament held in Gqeberha recently, even scoring a goal in the 1-0 group stage win over Eswatini.
Sundowns are also expected to part ways with another marksman who has spent the better part of his time away on loan, Etiosa Ighodaro.
The Nigerian spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Matsatsantsa.
"Richards Bay FC are keen to sign Sibanyoni. The negotiations have started. Chiefs and Magesi have also registered their interests, but [there is] nothing concrete so far.
"The boy is still contracted to Mamelodi Sundowns," revealed a source.
Richards Bay have already signed Thabiso Kutumela to bolster their strike force for next season, after the pint-sized forward was released by The Brazilians two weeks ago.

It looks like the Natal Rich Boyz aren't done adding to their front-line if their interest in Sibanyoni is anything to go by.
Where the player will eventually land up, with as many as three teams interested, while Sundowns themselves are a little thin up front, remains to be seen though.
