Feutmba: Crest stars should remain for CAF Champions League

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Roger "General" Feutmba says the CAF Champions League should be the only competition that earns you a star at the club's competition level.

On Sunday Sundowns were crowned the African Football League champions in the final that was played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

The South African champions defeated Moroccan giants Wydad in what was the second leg of the AFL final.

Sundowns already have a star on their jersey which was achieved after winning the African Champions League in 2016.

On Sunday's triumph, most people asked themselves if a second star was about to be launched by the South African club. 

Feutmba wishes only CAF should permit clubs when it comes to issuing stars.

"In my opinion, the star should only count in the Champions League," the Cameroonian tells KickOff.

"I believe the star should only be for the Champions League, even though the African Football League is one precious trophy in the continent where only the best competes. 

"I believe in the future African Super League will give you a star for winning. But for not now, it should be the 

"We always have to follow the rules that are in place, CAF should decide. We must not rush things.

"Nut at the moment I believe the star should remain in the Champions League.

"And I believe Sundowns will get the second star very soon through the Champions League.

"It will happen. Remember the teams that were competing in the African Football League are the very same teams that are competing in the Champions League, so it might be easy for Sundowns.

"They are now the best in the continent Mamelodi Sundowns, so they will get their second star very soon in the Champions League."
