Downs keeper makes decision on his future

Veteran goalkeeper Denis Onyango is set to remain with Mamelodi Sundowns next season after turning down an offer to join rivals SuperSport United.

Onyango is on the wanted list of both SuperSport and Chippa United, who harbour an intention of luring him away from Chloorkop next season.

The Ugandan international's contract with Sundowns is set to expire at the end of June.

However, The Brazilians have offered the 39-year-old goalkeeper a one-year extension on his current contract that will keep him at Chloorkop next season.

According to sources close to Mamelodi Sundowns, the club is looking to keep goalkeeper Dennis Onyango at Chloorkop beyond his playing days.

"There is huge interest for Denis Onyango in the PSL. Both Chippa and SuperSport United have spoken to the player.

"However, Sundowns have since offered him an extension on his contract. He is set for a new role within the club's development structures when he retires from football.

"That's the plan for him at Sundowns," said a source.

Matsatsantsa have since turned their attention to Ghanaian international Richard Ofori in a bid to bring him to Tshwane next season, after his exit from Orlando Pirates.

The Gavin Hunt-led outfit is looking for a goalkeeper to replace Ricardo Goss following his departure from the league champions.

Ofori has also been linked with a move to Young Africans in Tanzania, as exclusively revealed by KickOff last week.
