South Africa's U20 claimed a had fought 1-0 victory in extra-time over Democratic Republic of Congo in an U20 Africa Cup of Nation quarterfinal at the Suez Canal Stadium.
SuperSport United star Thabang Mahlangu, who started the match on the bench, scored the game's lone goal to secure a crucial victory for Amajita.
The victory over a formidable DRC side at the AFCON, did not see them only progress to the semifinals, but also guaranteed SA a spot in the FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Chile.

"We used almost everything that we thought we had, technically, tactically, physically and the character," the team's head coach Raymond Mdaka told SAFA.com.
"You could see they had a very good plan for us, but we were fortunate not to concede in the first half and in the second half.
"We sorted it out and then we at least came back and were able to get a goal and protected the goal."
