Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro praised his side for sticking together to win the MTN8 after a shaky run of form.
The Buccaneers won back-to-back MTN8 titles after a 3-1 penalty shoot-out victory over Mamelodi Sundowns, after both sides finishes extra-time goalless.
Winning his second-successive MTN8, his third trophy at Pirates overall, Jose Riveiro praised his side's fighting spirit and despite facing many difficult moments in the game.
The Spaniard also claimed the weather conditions had an impact on the encounter, saying it made things difficult for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Riveiro: I'm extremely proud to be Orlando Pirates coach" story:
"Congratulations coach and to the team, after the painful losses we experienced the last few games and to more than hold your own against a team many thought was unbeatable is truly remarkable. UP THE BUCS, The best team in the land and beyond," says The Ghost.
"When the season started, we pressed teams very high and squeezed them, beating Royal AM, Sekhukhune and City. We then took our peddle.
"In the final, we ran, squeezed and pressed Sundowns. Let's hope our plumber will continue, he is just too inconsistent, cup specialist tendencies like Mushin," says Zam d king buccaneer.
"I have not seen a better ref than this fair guy, Abongile Tom," says Danito 4 Life.
"He had nerves of steel and eyes like a hawk. That call on Shalulile when he bumped Chaine out of the way, so his teammate could get to the ball, who then was brought down by the keeper, is something that should be shown in 'Refereeing Classes' the world over.
"Many would have awarded a penalty, which would have been legitimate, had it not been for the previous infraction by the Mamelodi striker," replies The Ghost.
"Soweto is intimidating referees, this one will not be suspended, there will be excuses for all of Tom's errors," says SkyBY.
"Go lay charges of intimidation at Mamelodi Police Station while you're in that PAIN, we don't care and have no SHAME!!" replies tkmoamohe.
"Sour grapes," replies Barefoot Pirate.
"Be proud of the referee," says Dominate-downs.
"He is rightfully proud for beating that backdoor finalist," says abelmotaung50.
"I had doubts about you Riveiro, slowly but surely you are starting to become one of the best to ever coach our beloved team (still room for improvement though because your subs sometimes are not spot on), anyway good to see Olisa Ndah after a long injury. Hard luck my favourite defende, Sibisi, I like brotherhood in the Pirates camp," says collen.mohlala84.
Read: Rulani: Zero chances for Pirates over 120 minutes
Sundowns boss Rulani Mokwena says they should have won the MTN8 final against Orlando Pirates with the amount of chances they had.
The Tshwane giants had some glorious chances in the game, enjoying the bulk of possession and 15 shots at goal, with Mokwena claiming Bucs had "zero chances in over 120 minutes".
Mokwena maintained that he's proud of his troops and that they gave it their all but feels their congested fixture list contributed to his players experiencing fatigue towards the end of the match.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Rulani: Zero chances for Pirates over 120 minutes" story:
"Yes, and you're not going to concede many chances/goals because ypur players deliberately foul opponents to avoid being caught on the break," says Onside.
"Sundowns players will not allow you to run with the ball for 2 seconds hence teams are not creating good scoring opportunities and if referees were fair, they will hardly finish the match with 11 players.
"They will not win the champions league with that kind of play since there is VAR," replies Fair Comment.
"Zero goals from your team, zero benefits from your referees, and zero success," says Danito 4 Life.
"Your luck has run out. Dubious decisions that normally head your way have dried up. Congrats Pirates for getting one over the entitled ones," says Khosiological.
"He got the wrong script, we went there to win the cup, not to create chances, hence we won. His team is terrible with penalties, clearly, they did not practice them, he [Rulani] is paying his school fees in coaching experience now, it's called winning the big ones which he struggles with. That's why they continue choking in CAF," says Zam d king buccaneer.
"Locally, the big one is the Premiership, then The Champions League," replies thulamda.
"So why was Rulani complaining the whole 120mins if the tournament is not important. He even wanted unfair fouls and penalties. Pirates needs the money like any other team, not 'big ones'," replies Fair Comment.
"Manqoba Mnqithi openly pronounced yesterday during a breakfast press conference in Durban that he appreciates the benefits because some have trophies that they were not supposed to get, I would want to believe that he is satisfied that their benefits have come to an end, only fairness applies and they cannot win when that is in play," says user534079.
"Your chances were fruitless," says abelmotaung50.
"'Zero chances for Pirates' Really? What game was he watching? Talk about sour grapes. Anyway, many congratulations to the boys and in particular the keeper, Chaine. He stood between Masandawana and victory," says The Ghost.
"Saleng should have buried them in the 91st minute but missed and that was a huge let off, but Rulani decided to say whatever he thinks will ease his pain.
"Bucs won fairly, without controversy," says nicholusmaswikaneng.
"You can take your team and celebrate the chances they created; hence you received silver medals - it's for the runner up," says Fair Comment.
"I heard you saying you don't want to sound bitter, but throughout your interview, all I could hear was bitterness, shapa Bucs, shaaaapa," says The Ghost.
"Bro tell me about it, why is he talking about the other team's performance? zero chances? does he think it is easy to create chances playing a team that commits 85% of the fouls in 80% of their matches, that is dominating with unfairness, and there is a T Mokoena that is always lucky to foul players and gets away with murder.
"In cups, we will moer them until Rulani not only mentions the word 'humble' but practices it as well," says kekana.edward.
"I stopped watching the game in first half after those horrible Zwane and Shalulile misses. That's where the game was lost, should have converted at least one," says tshepolegodi.za.
"Saleng's chance in the last few minutes of the second half? Anyway, sorry Rulani, I'm a Pirates fan but I rate you highly and I like your passion towards the beautiful game," says collen.mohlala84.
"Rulani - zero chance for the referee today to be BRIBED!!" says tkmoamohe.
"This is just bitter and nothing else," says Black Mamba 2.
"It's called 'Sour grapes'" replies The Ghost.
"Rulani, you lost to a good team," says BrutuswamaJuju.
"And a good coach," replies Moshima.
