Tanzanian star Feisal Salum has more Instagram followers than Kaizer Chiefs, the club he’s linked with. Here's a look at the Azam FC playmaker's massive commercial appeal.
The Story
Feisal Salum's name is gaining increasing prominence in South Africa, as the playmaker continues to be linked with a high-profile move to Kaizer Chiefs.
Back home in Tanzania, however, Salum enjoys massive popularity, despite not playing for either of the country’s biggest clubs—Young Africans or Simba SC.

Affectionately known as "Fei Toto", the midfield maestro plays for Azam FC, who are reportedly aiming to secure a significant profit from his potential transfer.
His 1.7 million Instagram followers are a clear indication of his popularity, further boosted by over 300,000 followers on Facebook.
For comparison, Kaizer Chiefs have only 1.1 million followers on Instagram, at least 600,000 fewer than Salum.
Given his vast popularity, it's no surprise that Salum attracts several commercial endorsements.
Notably, he is the official ambassador for Nasam, a shoe store based in Zanzibar.
Unsurprisingly, the store's marketing content regularly features Salum wearing sneakers from Nasam, including the adidas Sambas he was spotted in en route to South Africa for the upcoming clash between Tanzania and Bafana Bafana.
Salum has also been seen promoting a diaper brand, as well as the Ministry of Minerals in Tanzania.
Should he move to South Africa, it would be no surprise if brands in Mzansi would also consider collaborating with the player.
