Mamelodi Sundowns star Lucas Ribeiro Costa now has an Amapiano song named after him – and the Brazilian appears to already be vibing to it. Here's a look!
The story
It’s not uncommon for songs to be named after famous athletes, with basketball legends such as Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson inspiring some big hits.
This trend has also been seen in South Africa, with one of the most iconic examples being TKZee’s hit Shibobo featuring Benni McCarthy.

The emergence of Amapiano in the mid to late 2010s has led to even more tracks inspired by South African footballers.
Perhaps the most popular of them all is the Amapiano anthem 'Lorch' by DJ Maphorisa & Kabza De Small featuring Semi Tee, Miano & Kammu Dee.
As you've guessed, the song is inspired by Thembinkosi Lorch of Mamelodi Sundowns, although it was released while he was still at Orlando Pirates.
South African youngster Relebohile Mofokeng also has an Amapiano song named after him by artist Shimi‑Boi.
Now, Ribeiro Costa is the latest to have an Amapiano jam named in his honour.
This week, the Brazilian footballer posted a snippet of the song – made by Mgiftos SA – on his Instagram stories.
The song references the player in several creative ways, and it seems the 26-year-old has given it his stamp of approval.
