Mamelodi Sundowns stars were among those in attendance for the media launch of the 2025 Grant Kekana Golf Day under the Grant Kekana Foundation.
The story
A product of the SuperSport United academy, Kekana is no stranger to the importance of having the right start to a career and access to resources.
The 32-year-old, who is nominated for the 2024/25 Betway Premiership Defender of the Season award, for the second year running, is doing more than his fair share to give back to the next generation.

Speaking at the media launch of the Grant Kekana Foundation Golf Day 2025 edition, the centre-back gave a candid account of the plight faced by children in underprivileged communities, but is determined to bridge the gap.
"We have seen kids in townships streets and rural villages who could outrun most pros I know...," Kekana said.
"But without support, without mentorship, without access, their stories end way too early.
"Through this foundation, we are building bridges. We give young people platforms to show up and shine.
"We are partnering with schools. We run sporting clinics, we provide resources, mentorship and where we can, we show up with more than just words."

Among its efforts, the Grant Kekana foundation sponsored the Mayoral Matric Awards Ceremony in 2024, hosted by the Bela Bela Municipality.
The foundation will also host a second edition of the 2025 Golf Day fundraiser later this year.
The annual event brings together business leaders, philanthropists, and sports enthusiasts in a bid to network, foster connections and generate funds to be donated to the youth development projects.
Teammates Lebo Mothiba, Aubrey Modiba and Siphelele Mkhulise were among those present at the media launch. Kekana will have a plethora of sponsors behind his mission, fashion line Emporio Armani.
