Honing his post-football talents: Buhle Mkhawanazi

With former Bafana Bafana star Buhle Mkhwanazi having previously opened up about his struggles of being a high earning footballer, the defender is now honing his craft in another career. Here's a look!

The story

In February 2023, Mkhwanazi revealed the mouthwatering contract he had at the now defunct Bidvest Wits, with the centre-back disclosing that he used to brag about his salary although he was suffering spiritually.

Pictures of his contract were posted online, showing that from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019, he was earning a handsome salary of R195 000 per month.

Now aged 34 and reportedly without a club, Mkhwanazi seems to be dedicating more time to his other passion, photography.

A glance at his Instagram profiles shows a collection of high-quality portraits of himself as well as other individuals. With over 14 thousand followers on his personal account, the former SuperSport United star also runs an Instagram page specially made for his photography work called Buhle Mkhwanazi Photo.

With his mantra being: "Images that tell who you are", Mkhwanazi's imagery work demonstrates his artist side, as he captures captivating portraits, including intriguing close-ups of himself.

Admittedly, photography seems to be a bug that has bitten some players already, with Orlando Pirates and Bafana striker Zakhele Lepasa being another one who has shown a passion for the art of taking pictures
